The best baby seats

As we have already mentioned a few times, climbing is not a cheap sport, especially when it comes to children climbing. If your child liked this sport, whether thanks to the Olympic Games, Adam Ondra's YouTube channel or a classmate, and now you have been drawn into the story, don't despair. We are here to advise. Now specifically, what are the best child seats and how much will they cost you.

Children grow and grow fast. Here at Variant, we believe that it is not necessary to always buy the most expensive equipment on the market. If there is a cheaper and better option, we take it. So, with this philosophy, allow us to introduce you to 3+3 seats that are made for children and are not that expensive.

Seats for the little ones

Climbing can be started at any age (is climbing safe for children?) and not only on a ring. If you want to take your children to the wall or even to the rock, but you don't have a seat for them, we recommend four full-body harnesses for the smallest climbers.

Singing Rock ZAZA

ZAZA is the first part-time job that we will focus on. It is a universal full-body seat for children up to 40 kg. It has three tightening points - shoulders, legs, stomach - which can be adjusted to fit a child who is 95 to 130 cm tall. There are two red eyes on the chest for tying into the rope. A carabiner is attached to them or a rope is attached (this way, the child will turn away from the wall when falling). This seat shines with its practicality and comfort. It has padding on the back, which makes it easier to put on and prevents the straps from rubbing against the body. Along with that, it has an elastic band on the belly that increases comfort while playing and moving outside the wall.

Price: Around 1,000 CZK
Maximum weight: 40 kg
Height: 95 – 130 cm
Eyelets for tying: Textile

Beal Bambi

Beal Bambi

A seat very similar to the previous ZAZA model is the Beal Bambi. It is made for children around the same size (90-130 cm) and age. The waist circumference is movable between 35 and 60 cm, the weight of the seat is 350 grams. However, the Beal Bambi can carry more than 40 kg. It is not recommended to significantly exceed its weight limit (40 kg), but it has a certain tolerance. It has a string on the back that prevents friction and makes it easier to put on. The main benefit of the Bambi seat is the four tightening straps that allow for very easy loosening and tightening of the seat (2 on the chest and 2 on the legs).

Price: Around 900 CZK
Maximum weight: 40kg
Height: 90-130 cm
Eyelets for tying: Textile

Singing Rock Ball

Bala is the latest in our line of "best baby seats" for the smallest children. This type differs from the previous two in three main points. The size of children for whom it is made is between 95 - 125 cm (that is, for smaller than the previous two). It has wider legs and chest straps, which increases comfort. It also includes five tightening clips. Unlike the others, however, it is attached to a metal eye instead of two nylon ones. This is the seat you're most likely to find on many interior walls, so there's also a chance your child will be most familiar with it.

Price: Around 900 CZK
Maximum weight: 40 kg
Height: 95-125 cm
Tying eyes: Metal (duracel)

The best children's seats for the bigger ones

For older children (those around 10 years old and older), they have relatively few options for seats (especially since they often reach for adult versions). Even so, we have selected three of the best seats that are safe, good and not worth all the savings.

Uncle Webee Kid

Uncle Webee Kid

Webee kid is a children's version of the series of seats of the same name, which Ocún produces for adults. So if you've ever met her, you know she's very good. With comfortable sliding padding on the waist and legs and options to tighten the strap around the waist and legs, it is one of the most comfortable seats on the market. This is also supported by the fact that it is, at heart, an outdoor seat (a multi-pitch) climbing, which only increases its comfort, as climbers spend more time in it. So if you want a multifunctional seat at a good price from a Czech company, this is the right choice!

Price: Around 1,000 CZK
Waist: 50-75 cm
Pants: 40-50 cm

Uncle Twist Kid

Next to the last in the series of the best children's seats is the Twist Kid. It is a sister product of the Webee Kid, with one striking difference. It's about seat for indoor climbing. This means that it only has two material carriers around the waist, is less padded and slightly less comfortable, as it is assumed that the climber will not spend as much time in it and will be taking it off continuously. This is also associated with less breathability of the seat. However, it is lighter and fits a bit better than the Webee model. Both types have the same tightening buckles at the waist and on the legs. It is important to remember that although this seat can be used outside on the rock, its design home is the indoor climbing wall.

Price: Around 900 CZK
Waist: 48-68 cm
Pants: 33 – 46 cm

Easy Simond

Easy Simond

The last seat on the list is the Simond easy. It is the cheapest seat on the market (as it is from Decathlon), which is somewhat reflected in its features. It's clearly for indoor use, as it's not one of the most breathable or comfortable harnesses you can find. It tightens, like the others, at three points - 2 on the legs and one around the waist. However, what makes it drastically different from the others (besides the price) is the method of tying into the rope. As it is made especially for beginners, it has only one nylon strap to which the climber is tied. The aim of the manufacturers is thus to reduce the number of mistakes that children can make. It is not such an ideal seat for more advanced child climbers.

Price: 750 CZK
Waist: 52-76 cm
Pants: 25-45 cm

Who is full-body child training suitable for?

Full-body training is recommended for the youngest climbers. A beginner deserves the best protection and a full-body seat will provide it without compromise.

Where to buy a child's climbing seat cheaply?

Climbing is not the cheapest sport, so we recommend the best seats at the best possible price. Children's Internet bazaars can of course be the number, but we prefer to buy a new seat.
